Three of our favorite summer wines
With summer starting to settle in Spokane, we here at My Fresh Basket are excited to bring you some of our favorite wines of the season. Whether you’re entertaining guests in the backyard or garden, or simply enjoying a glass with a meal, we think you’ll love these wines!
Torre de Luna Pinot Grigio 2016
As the temperatures start to rise, a cold crisp white wine never fails to satisfy. With delicate hints of pear and a floral bouquet, Torre de Luna’s Pinot Grigio is a full-bodied dry white wine that satisfies the palate with crisp citrus overtones, and pairs wonderfully with mushrooms, shellfish, or on its own.
Chateau Ste Michelle Rosé 2017
0One of the best things about the summer is the abundance of fresh fruits and berries, which is why we chose to feature the Chateau Ste Michelle Rosé. Featuring bright aromas of watermelon, raspberry, and lemon, this blush wine will envelop your palate with flavors of wild strawberry, citrus zest, and hints of melon. It is soft and flavorful on the palate with a long crisp finish, making it a great wine to finish a meal with.
Patton Valley PTG 2016
We would be remiss to not include a solid red wine to our list. Although many people focus on chilled white wines during the summer days, a great red wine will pair well with many of the amazing foods you’ll find at a summer barbeque. Patton Valley PTG is an Oregonian wine that utilizes characteristics of the often overlooked French AOC Bourgogne Passe-Tout-Grains to create a bold, rich flavor utilizing primarily Pinot Noir grapes with a touch of Chardonnay grapes to round out the flavor.
While this shortlist isn’t comprehensive, we believe these wines will be a great addition to your wine collection. For more suggestions on wines, feel free to check in with our in-store Wine Steward Drew, and, as always, please drink responsibly.
