On-the-Go Breakfast Class
Personally, one of the biggest challenges I face when attempting to be more health-conscience is finding enough time. Between seemingly endless commitments, there never seems to be enough time to focus on my own wellbeing. This wellness class is extremely beneficial for those in a similar situation, Chef Taryn Avena is going to teach us 5 easy, on-the-go breakfast recipes to fuel those busy mornings. Join us on Saturday, January 20th from 2pm – 4pm to learn a little more about taking care of yourself so you can take care of the important things in your life!
Need a Something to Kick-Start your Metabolism? Try a Detox
Another effective method of really revving up your health plan is detoxing. We all know there are hundreds of detox plans circulating the internet and Pinterest…okay, okay…maybe I’ve done one or two…or all of them, but I never know which one is the best for me or even if they are good for you at all. Chef Charmaine Vierra is coming to our rescue. She will be teaching us just how to deal with the post-holiday bulge through healthy, natural foods. She is a master when it comes to health. You will leave her class feeling confident in the recipes she shares with you. Her class is Tuesday, February 6th from 7pm – 8:30pm.
Afternoon Follow Through
If you haven’t been into My Fresh Basket for lunch, now is definitely the time! There are so many opportunities to make health-conscious lunch decisions.
Salad Bar
Directly in front of you when you walk through the doors is our hot bar and salad bar (it’s okay to get distracted by the beautiful assortment of fresh produce to your right instead of making a direct beeline for it). I love our salad bar for many reasons, but it all stems back to the fact that it is 100% customizable to your tastes. But, of course, a salad isn’t always the healthiest of options depending on how you make it. Some tips: always include a protein, limit yourself to minimal amounts of dressing or switch over to just balsamic and oil, and skip the croutons. Moderation is crucial in order to meet your goals, you don’t want to deprive yourself of all your favorite things. This is another reason I love the salad bar, if I feel I need a few croutons in order to ward off my cravings, then I’m definitely going to sneak a couple in there!
Kombucha
Right next to our salad bar is an assortment of kombucha. For anyone that is unfamiliar with it, kombucha is a fermented tea with wonderful probiotic benefits. We even offer kombucha on tap over by our growler bar from Bare Culture Kombucha. You can sample the different types to find our what suits your tastes. Just make sure to start off with small amounts if you are new to kombucha.
Smoothie and Wellness Shots
If you decided to go the detox route, then stop by our espresso bar for one of our fruit and vegetable packed smoothies or wellness shot. They are made with 100% natural ingredients. (I’m making this up so I will have to double check)
Evening Commitment
Now that you’ve made it through a majority of the day making positive wellness decisions, i
Vegan Winter Sauce Class
Okay so what’s next? Raquel Kaelin from Tender Loving Cuisine is back to teach another vegan-inspired class. Raquel is a master at knowing all of the nutrients present in each of the ingredients she uses.
